Aastra's Enterprise IP portfolio offers a full family of cost effective IP based solutions that have been designed for interoperability, upgradeability and ease of use. From CPE based to hosted solutions, Aastra Telecom has the IP products for all your business needs ranging in fully featured telephone systems, endpoints, and media servers.

Enterprise IP Telephones

The IP phones support multiple IP telephony systems including BroadWorks, Nortel, Sylantro, MetaSwitch, Trixbox, Fonality and Asterisk SIP

They are a very good choice for Asterisk / FreePBX as they have a set of free XML applications for this target.

Audio quality is superb, they are very reliable, and they do support (correctly) G722.

URI dialing is not directly supported yet. It would be nice to add a small Azerty keyboard on the 560M extension module for URI dialing and XML applications use (specially instant messaging or SMS). This is the only thing missing to the 5xi range to compete with the high end models from other leaders.

Expansion Modules

Up to 3 expansion modules are supported without extra external power supply.
  • 536M - For the 53i, 55i, 57i and 57i CT. Provides 36 additional keys with LED status display.
  • 560M - For the 55i, 57i and 57i CT. Provides 3 pages of 20 softkeys with LED status, and a 144x128 backlit LCD display.

Other Products

AastraLink Pro - An Asterisk based IP/FXO private branch exchange. Product Description
Aastra CNX - An Asterisk based IP/TDM network conference bridge. Product Description

by vgster, Wednesday 06 of February, 2008 [12:28:01 UTC]
I wrote a simple config utility for the Aastra range of phones http://www.lraweb.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk. Haven't had any spam ever and I've been using their phones and contacting support for a while now.

Can you please tell me which of these phones work well with free world dialup? Do any of these phones support STUN, outbound proxy, ip address to ip address calling and calling sip numbers via a sip URI (something like fwd@fwd.pulver.com)? Thanks in advance.

333Spam - take 2

First under the Sayson name, and now under the Aastra name - they continue to send spam messages to non-customers. Feel free to send Susan Snow an email (ssnow@aastra.com) and let her know how you feel about spam.
