NetAppel.fr

Website: NetAppel.fr

According to some comments on this wiki they're connected with VoipBuster but they have different FREE countries you can call with their Application

The idea is like Skype where you have your buddies you double click on to talk, but you can dial any number for free just like with VoipBuster

According to a lot of sources, VoipBuster and NetAppel are owned by the same swiss company.

NetAppel.fr adds the folowing free countries for you to call: Belgium,France,Switzerland

Canada,Italy,Netherlands,Portugal and UK have been removed recently

I have not been able to setup IAX or SIP to use them although a ping responds to sip.netappel.fr and iax.netappel.fr

(They have the same IP for the iax.xxxxxx subdomains as voipbuster but different ips for their SIP.xxxxx subdomains but both reside in berlin germany )

Please post your activity success, and failures getting asterisk working with this great service:

Here is the SIP way(IAX doesn't work me :'( ) to pass a call via Netappel:

type=peer
host=sip.netappel.com
canreinvite=no
username=USERNAME
fromuser=USERNAME
secret=PASSWORD
register => USERNAME:PASSWORD@sip.netappel.com

Note that is sip.netappel.COM ;)

try to use VoipBusters parameters:
Domain/Realm, SIP Proxy: sip1.voipbuter.com

it works for voipcheap, so maybe also for netappel?

Setting the same settings as the VoipBuster (but obviously using the username and password the server names of netappel doesn't register.
I get authentication issues, and the IAX setup seems to time out

I am trying this on a free account.
It wouldn't be crazy to assume that you have to do the 5 Euro deposit (which you can do with paypal) before IAX and SIP through your asterisk will work for them.

They are located in Berlin Germany and so if you're in north america (like myself) and making a call to north america the delay is VERY substantial before it connects. and the delay in the conversation (in the packets) is noticeable. But heck it's free

This is contrary to VoipBuster where I have it connected as IAX just fine with my asterisk server.
I do have a funded account on voipbuster (it was only 1 Euro and you can pay with paypal before)

I have a funded 5 Euro account, but it doesn’t change anything with the connectivity of Asterisk to it. Still doesn’t work.

SipDiscount - the same owners of NetAppel & VoipBuster have free phone calls to:
Austria,Canada, Denmark ,Finland, Germany, Greece,Hong Kong,Hungary ,Iceland ,Ireland,Israel,Italy,Japan,Liechtenstein,Luxembourg,Malaysia,Monaco,Netherlands,New Zealand,Norway,Poland,Portugal,Russia,Singapore,South Korea,Spain,Sweden,Switzerland,Taiwan,United Kingdom,United States

Yes, I had SIP with Netappel working just fine with a D-Link DVG-2001S ATA connected to a Linksys Wireless router. Using the Quick Installation Guide for the ATA it worked first time and I used it for 2 months. When my router went u/s I replaced it with a Belkin Wireless G+ MIMO and now I cannot get Netappel SIP working again. I have been through every parameter trying different values, added a STUN, reset to factory settings and re-configured the settings again, all to no avail. It does not it seems to be able to register with the server; stays waiting for the SIP server to respond. The Windows client still works. I think I need to look for a working Linksys router to test it, but I cannot for the life of me figure out what is wrong.

333SIP access

I am using NetAppel from the US. It has cheaper rates than some of the other Betamax services. The NetAppel Windows client works perfectly. SIP access doesn't. sip.netappel.fr times out, although I can ping it. Substituting sip.netappel.com with the same NetAppel user name and password defaults to my VOIPBuster account, which has higher per minute charges. Same behavior on Grandstream GXP2000 and X-Lite 3.0. Has anyone got NetAppel to work with SIP?

It seems that betamax no longer offers inbound numbers for new accounts
im looking for unused or old accounts with inbound numbers, any area or country.
if you have a unused account and no longer want to use it, please would you email the account info:
voipsite: i.e voipbuster, voipcheap, internetcalls ect
the user name and password. number@ptt-telecom.eu
anyone wishing to swap account i will be happy to help, I have London 0208, Nottingham 0115 Switzerland +41 Manchester 0161.
im fairly happy with betamax service, I mostly call uk numbers, to use up my credit i also call mobiles.
for me its a good deal.

It is true that these programs are of the same company. The company is called betamax. The strange thing is that the programs are the same but the costs vary a lot. To see a comparison between several of the companies and to see to which countries you can call for free you could visit; www.voipproducts.eu
